Wow! That doesn’t sound like “smack talking”! App State was the big dog at the time…sounds more like an excited Freshman! Is every comment “smack talking”?

Just before the Liberty game last fall:

“Oh man, that would be lovely playing App State every year,” redshirt freshman quarterback Justin Thorpe said. “Experiencing [last year's game], I’ve never seen a crowd like that. I’ve been to Virginia Tech games, U.Va. games, but that was one of the most livest crowds I’ve ever seen.”

When told that the Dukes will play Liberty four times in the coming seasons, Thorpe’s reaction was telling.

“We do? Instead of App State?” he asked before chuckling. “No comment.”

Yeah, it seemed pretty inane to most JMU fans. But it added fuel to our fire (pun intended) a year ago. Too bad the rain doused the energy. Our folks pride ourselves on typically having a strong game atmosphere inside the stadium. So it was taken as a direct afront.

Randy – Just curious….when was Justin Thorpe smack-talking? Hadn’t heard that yet. Any more details would be cool.
